What is Single Sign-On (SSO)? (Premium)

Larger organizations may use SAML - or Security Assertion Markup Language. SAML works in a similar way to the way browser cookies allow you to sign-on to a website on the internet without having to enter your credentials each time. SAML provides for a similar ease-of-use in signing on to a company's internal network or other web-based applications and services, enabling you to access multiple web applications using one set of login credentials. .

SAML is primarily used to allow web browser Single Sign-On (SSO) where you use a web browser to request access to a web-based resource (e.g., file, app, web site) that is protected by a SAML service provider. In this case GlassFrog is the service provider. Using SAML and SSO, GlassFrog requests the identity of the user by means of an authentication request to a SAML identity provider such as Active Directory, OneLogin, and Okta.  Note that SAML is something your company will need to already have access to and have configured in advance, prior to using it with services such as GlassFrog.

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows GlassFrog users to log in using their existing SAML authentication, saving a step and reducing the need to manage another set of user names and passwords. It also streamlines account provisioning for your organization.
