How do I create a Cross Link between two circles? (v4.1)

Add a Cross Link using Holacracy v4.1 in GlassFrog

This article refers to concepts and features only found in the Holacracy Constitution v4.1 settings for GlassFrog, and do not apply to most organizations using to GlassFrog. To see which ruleset your organization uses, check the "Rules" or "Constitution" page in the left-hand sidebar under the "Your Organization" section. If your organization uses the v5 Rules, see How do I add one role to multiple circles? (v5, Premium).

Cross Links are created to invite any entity or group to participate within another Circle’s Governance Process and operations.

To create a Cross Link within one organization/entity, the circle should create a defined Cross-Link role during a Governance meeting (see How do I add a role or circle?), and a policy inviting the "Linked Entity" (the other entity or group being represented within the circle) to participate in the governance of the "Target Circle" (the circle making the invitation). Here is an example of a Cross Link Policy in GlassFrog.

The Linked Entity invited into a Target Circle may be a specific role contained by another circle. In that case, in Holacracy v4.1 the other circle may change the role representing the Linked Entity to another one of its roles that it believes is more appropriate, or delegate the selection of the Linked Entity to one of its sub-circles.

Here is an example of what that role would look like when it is created across two organizations: Target Circle and Linked Entity.

See Holacracy Constitution v4.1 Article 2.7 for more information on Cross Links.
